Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need to manually upload eSewa, Khalti, or Fonepay QR payment receipts?

No. Digital payments made via registered PSPs (eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay, Bank QR) at qualifying retail merchants automatically transmit transaction data directly to the IRD central server through Nepal Rastra Bank settlement channels.

How much tax is deducted from the prize money?

Under Section 88(a) of the Nepal Income Tax Act 2058, all prize money is subject to a 25% Windfall Gains Tax (आकस्मिक लाभ कर) deducted at source. For example, the Bumper Prize of रू 10,00,000 yields a net take-home payout of रू 7,50,000.

How long do I have to claim my cash prize if I win?

Prize winners must present their claim at the nearest Inland Revenue Office (आन्तरिक राजस्व कार्यालय) within 15 days of the official result publication, along with the original bill/receipt, Personal PAN card, and Citizenship or National ID.
